A: The university course selection system is divided into three stages: Initial online selection, online withdrawal, and online addition and withdrawal.  Manual registration and mid-semester withdrawal are also available.

◎Initial selection: 1-3 days after semester start for newly admitted students and at the end of the preceding semester (early June, late December) for current students. The initial course selection is administered in different stages for bachelor programs. Seniors are given priority in course selection followed by juniors and sophomores.

◎Online withdrawal: Starting in the Academic Year 2014/2015 NDHU students have the option to drop courses they have no intention of attending one day before the start of the course addition and withdrawal period 

◎Online addition and withdrawal: Usually one week after semester start (to allow students to add or withdraw from courses based on their personal preferences after attending courses of the new semester for one week 

◎Manual registration: Starting 2-3 days after the end of the course addition and withdrawal period (determined by the seating capacity of the classroom and the willingness of instructors to accept additional students during this special course selection period) 

◎Mid-semester withdrawal: 

※Applications may be submitted between the 9th and 12th week of the current semester (if students realize during the semester that certain courses are too difficult for them or the midterm exam results suggest they will fail the course, they may apply for mid-semester withdrawal. This is limited to one course per semester, and the total number of credits after the dropping of a course must still meet the minimum credit requirements of the respective department, graduate institute, or degree program.
